In the vibrant creative pulse of Kampala, few journeys capture the spirit of determination and heart quite like that of Gilivazio Akambamu-better known as Khan Givas. A musician, entrepreneur, and visionary, he is the founder of Hustlers Base Collaborations (HBC) and the driving force behind the Legendary Lovers movement.
As he gears up for a special double milestone on May 29, his birthday and the launch of his highly anticipated EP, Khan Givas’s story stands as a powerful reminder that talent, grit and vision can turn humble beginnings into a thriving empire.

From Mbarara Roots to a Creative Calling
Born on 29 May 1998, in Mbarara, Khan Givas was raised by a single mother and other siblings in the quiet rural setting of Kashari. Life was modest, but it built in him an unshakeable resilience.
He attended Akashanda Primary School before moving to Gulu Army Secondary School for his secondary education. It was there, far from home, that his love for music truly took root.
From an early age, Khan immersed himself in community entertainment auditions, local drama groups and school competitions. Music was not just a hobby, it was a calling.

After secondary school, he enrolled in an Information and Communication Technology course. Yet his passion for sound proved stronger than any classroom.
At just 18 years old in 2016, instead of waiting for an opportunity, he created one. He founded Hustlers Base Collaborations, a label and publishing company dedicated to empowering independent artists and creators.
Under the HBC banner, Khan released a string of singles that helped shape his “Lover Boy” persona and built a loyal following.

Akambamu made the high-energy Kiga Nation, the rhythmic Ndeeba, Gambaye (featuring Nohart), On Fleek, and the original Jitambue. Each track carried his signature blend of Afro-pop, hip-hop, and heartfelt lyricism, speaking directly to the dreams and struggles of everyday Ugandans.
A Birthday Gift to His Fans: “Lovers Cannot Fall”
This May 29 will be more than just another birthday for Khan Givas. It marks the official release of his EP Lovers Cannot Fall, a deeply personal project that marks a new chapter in his artistic growth.
Blending Afro-pop, hip-hop and his trademark romantic storytelling, the EP explores the highs and lows of love, ambition, and self-belief.

Drawing from insights shared on his official site khangivas.com, here is a closer look at the tracklist:
Muziki: An uplifting anthem celebrating the healing power of music. It sets the tone for the project, blending infectious beats with a message of joy and renewal.
Njagala Gwe: A soul-stirring Luganda sweet sound that translates to “I Want You.” Vulnerable and sincere, it honours the kind of love that endures every challenge.
Imagine: A dreamy mid-tempo reflection on possibility. It echoes Khan’s own path-from rural Mbarara to building a digital music empire-encouraging listeners to dream boldly and holding their own firmly.

Lovers: The dance-emotional core and title track. A smooth, rhythmic celebration of unbreakable connection, it captures the spirit of his Legendary Lovers community.
Jitambue (Remix – Album Version):
A polished, richer take on one of his breakthrough singles. Meaning “Talk About Yourself,” it remains a powerful call for young people to recognise their worth and potential following love.
The Hustlers Base Philosophy
Khan Givas is more than a performer as he is a digital expert and CEO who has built everything from the ground up. His label has become a platform for talent development, proving that artists from Western Uganda can thrive on the global stage without waiting for traditional gatekeepers.
By combining his ICT background with creative instincts, he has distributed his music across major platforms and forged a direct bond with fans.
“Music is our base, so let’s collaborate,” remains his guiding mantra. Through Hustlers Base Collaborations and the Legendary Lovers movement, Khan has created more than a brand, he has built a community rooted in resilience, self-belief, and genuine connection.
As May 29 approaches, the Ugandan music scene watches a young self-made leader step into his next chapter.
Lovers Cannot Fall is not just an EP; it is a heartfelt statement from a man who has always believed that the hustle and the heart can go hand in hand.
The project drops on May 29 across all major streaming platforms and at khangivas.com. For fans who have followed his journey, it is a celebration of how far one determined voice from Mbarara has come and a promise of even greater things ahead.
